Reviews
Needs work!
This course is in a beautiful location, and the course design seems to be pretty good. That's where it stops. We actually lost balls in the fairway because the grass was so tall. I won't be back until things change dramatically.
TLC Lacking!
I liked the setting of this course and the layout makes you think that it could really be something, but the fairways hadn't been mowed in about 2 weeks, and the greens are blighted pretty badly. Being a KY State Park, they are at the mercy of the legislature, as far as funding,, but it just is a disappointment to lose balls in the fairway.
Need to mow the course more thoroughly
I lost 10 balls due to the fact of not being able to find them in the grass. Unless you can hit every fairway be wary of losing your ball
Nice Course
Enjoyed playing here- challenging but fun. Somewhat wet- due to recent rains!
Nice Improvements
I've played this course several times but this was the best shape that I have ever seen it in, so kudos to the course superintendent/grounds crew. As other reviews have noted, the front nine requires good shots to avoid water hazards while the back nine is a little more open. As a short hitter, I found it challenging and there are four different tee options to choose from. The staff at the course is friendly and can easily answer any questions you have.
Ok but needs improvement
Mainly the review was based on course conditions back 9 good-great front 9 well below good
The back nine was in good shape and it was fun. The front nine on the other hand is a different story. It’s in rough shape. Some of the worst greens I’ve ever seen.
will be getting in better shape
my first time playing the course. the fairways and rough was mowed real good the only bad thing is the greens are burning up they had bad places in all of them the number 3 green was closed they had a temporary green in use if they get some rain and the greens back in shape will be back
Greens a little rough!!!! Everything else was great.
Average for State Parks
Take of 2 halves for sure. They ply backside first and it’s early 2000’s and wide open, nothing fancy nothing bad. Front side is original 60’s and is worth it. Definitely a shot makers 9, don’t have to be long but you do have to put it at the right spot and number on several holes. Staff was super nice and friendly and overall I give it a 3.5 out of 5. Overall layout is a medium grade for me, front side carries all the weight, back side is just so wide open and different. The greens were in a definite struggle with this heat and appearance of over watering as the greens were pretty soaked. I would say play if your near, price is low and there was no one there when we played at 8 a.m. and we zipped around in about 3 hrs. I would play again just not in any hurry too!
Greens Looking Great
Had rained a ton, but still got to play. Staff was awesome, we really enjoyed our day! Folks, please fix your divots! The greens were great, but I fixed about 100 divots and I can’t hit a green for nothing!!
Nice round
Very ice and remote course. Remote enough that gps misleads you and there is no cell service. It is nice to get away but challenging if you keep your scores through your app and use the gps. None of this is the fault of the course. The staff were awesome!
Narrow fairways
Had a great time playing here a few weeks ago. Nice scenery and well kept. Front 9 is a little narrow for me but still fun.
