Reviews
Course maintained excellent by volunteers
I have played this course for many years, from a nine hole double tee layout to the present added upper nine as the locals call it. A real effort has been made to get the course back into good shape.. New sand in traps, we'll maintained fairways, rough, and hazard areas. The greens are always in good shape. Staff is always ready to please, and the lodge has really good food.
Well worth playing.
Great Value
Nice course for hot deal price. Highly recommend..
Such a shame
I've played here several times. I normally don't care for the front nine since the back is so well layed out. The course was in horrible shape, the fairways never came in. The back was even worse as they've now plugged the fairways. The greens were slow.
I'm so glad I got this round with a hot deal.
take extra baiis
fairways have been better greens in good shape .will play agan.ou can find a lot of but use bug soray
Great Value!
I have played this course a few times while on summer vacations to the area and it is a very good course. Most of the holes are straightforward, so if you can hit straight tee shots and approaches things will go well for you. In fact, several holes on the course require premium tee shots, especially #5, where you have to place your tee shot between two water hazards. The front nine is more challenging than the back nine and requires navigating a few water hazards. Elevation changes are present on a few of the holes as well. If you are someone that struggles keeping the ball in the fairway, you may also experience problems since you can easily lose balls in the woods (a problem on the back nine).
The course has four different tee options as well and they are spaced appropriately, so if you are someone that doesn't bomb the ball off the tee, you can still have an enjoyable round.
The staff was very friendly and you get some great deals if you are willing to play early. I got an 8 a.m. tee time on my last visit and played for $10 a person. No one else was on the course on the day that I went, so there was no backup and I could just relax with my friends and play a round.
The only complaint I have is that although the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were well maintained, the bunkers were not. The staff seemed to indicate that this was because of the harsh winter and new sand had not yet been put in the bunkers. Many of them were hollowed out, dry, and some had grass growing in them. I'm hoping that this will be fixed after Memorial Day since they had several mounds of sand near the back nine and maintenance was working on the course throughout our round.
Still, for the price, as well as the awesome scenery that the golf course gives you, this is worth a trip if you are in the area or staying at the park.
