Very hilly
Some nice scenic holes on the course, lot of elevation changes, Fairways need some work.
This course needs help
Played this course when it first opened years ago. It has seriously deteriorated since. Fairways and especially bunkers in horrible shape. Shows definite signs of lack of upkeep. No services whatsoever on course. Course is in disrepair. They either need to invest in it to bring it back to the way it was when it opened or they need to close it.
NKY golfer
Fairways and tee boxes need to fill in a little more. Greens were in good shape. Concessions were closed at the turn due to the heat, but no one told us before heading out to the course which is a distance form the pro shop and other food serious
Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience that the closing of the concessions may have caused you. We hope you decide to come back and play with us again!
Decent value
Played as a twp-some. Started before 7 am. Got behind a ball-loosing-hunting-for 3-some. They were resistant to letting us through so we skipped # 10 to get by them. We finished 4 holes ahead of them.
Greens were PERFECT, fairways we very thin on the high spots.
Tees were a little beat up as well.
Overall, greens were great so I was satisfied. Beer was cold and reasonably prices at snack bar. No beverage cart though so plan ahead. Golf shop and cart staff was friendly and helpful. Good day.
Yardages marked on the paths, some sprinkler heads marked. Bring a electronic yardage device.
sshepard03,
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear you had a good round and enjoyed the staff. Though, we are sorry you had to skip #10. Come give us another shot soon!

Returned to an old friend
I always liked this course although I like the Willows a little better, which is part of this facilities 3 courses. They have had some problems in recent years with the fairways but seem to have a handle on them now. Very challenging although I miss the old 18th hole as they have rerouted it.
u00000929952,
Thank you for the great 4-Star review! We are happy to see you've tried the other courses--come play again soon!

Challenging course
Played this course for the first time in about 10 years and I agree with the review posted on 7/1/16 - course was really in good shape (even though it had rained the past couple of days), bunkers were horrible and 18th tee box was a joke. Actually, I noticed the 18th hole was re-designed - it used to be a fun/challenging hole but now needs work. This course is not for a beginner and impossible for someone to walk it with all of the elevation changes. Unfortunately we were stuck with the dreaded "carts on path only" today which made it less fun. We found a great deal on golfnow for $15 so I highly recommend it for that price.
KRis1100918,

Dayton golfer drives to KY
I played this course approximately 20 years ago. At that time it was the best golf course in the area. Yesterday we made the decision not to play out of the bunkers because they were in such poor shape.there were rocks in the bunkers there was mud in the bunkers there was grass in the bunkers, overall the bunkers are horrible. They recently must've changed the 18th hole we teed off on a tee that was 40% sand and not level. The greens were in good shape but slow. Overall it's a great course, but lacking some tlc.
u247070184,

Good shape
Very nice course, good layout
Worth the Trip
The fairways were in perfect condition, the greens were country club quality and very fast. The greens are also HUGE. The rough was a challenge and the course is well worth playing. I give it a 5 star. Only negative, the snack shack has the worst brats in the world. I think they were made days ago and re heated.
Kenton County courses need oversight
Golf carts have torn seats, they are never cleaned. The staff acts like they are doing you a favor letting you play golf. Hope new management company straightens this facility out. Courses are varied and fun to play. It seems like new personnel may be the answer to facilities problems.
Fox Run is in poor condition
It is really a shame, this used to be one of the nice courses in NKY and the staff here has let this course really go. Alot of weed grasses and very sparse lies in the fairways. Greens rolled true but very slow. This is a very nice layout which feels like it is in the middle of no where, but you are right int he heart of NKY. Used to feel like an accessible resort course close to home, not any more. Unfortunately they have not adjusted their prices and charged us $52 to ride 18. A very fair price if the course was kept in reasonable condition. There really is no excuse for this, as the summer of 2015 is about the best summer this area has had for grass growing in the last 20. It is obvious they just don't have the money or the right management.
fox run
Staff has done a great job improving the course since this summer.
Coming around
Fairways starting to come around. Greens were excellent! Hope 2015 will be good to Fox Run. What can be done about #17 Fairway?
FOX RUN NEEDS HELP
Ok first of all i was told that the course was in good shape, for all you who know fox run was severly damaged this last summer due to some kind of disease. The efforts to restore are coming along but dont tell me there in good shape. The course should be shut down and allowed to heal. Kenton county please close it down, they haave two other courses not like they would be out of business. Anyway people please do not play let the course get well.
Course has shots for every club in your bag.
Loved the greens. Lots of breaking putts, but not to severe. Fast play and our group played ready golf and not a single time did we have to wait to hit. We will be back and real soon we hope.
course going thru renovation
The course had a major set back this year when changing grass styles. the course is recovering and the grass is taking hold by spring next year the course should be back to excellent. Had a major rain storm the night before and we were restricted to cart path. makes for a slower round but the number of users is down and did not cause any inconvenience. the greens are in great shape and most of the tee boxes are also. some bare spots on fairways but we ageed to place ball back or later on grass
It's a good test
Fox is tough, especially if you're not in the fairway. Long course with huge, undulating greens makes for a round where you will work for every shot. I got a deal on golfnow for $17 and for that price it is a no brainer! My round was quick but I played during the day on a Friday.
challenging
Very good course, the price was excellent. The regular price is much higher. I am reviewing this at the much reduced price.
We are sorry to hear that our course did not exceed your expectations, Marty. Please send us an email to foxrunkentoncounty@gmail.com and we would like to further discuss this situation with you. Thank you.
