Not worth the 25.00 we paid.
This was absolutely not worth the 25.00 that we paid to play the "premiere" course at Kenton County. The fairways were non existent, the club house could have at least warned us of the course conditions. There was more mud and bare spots in the fairway than actual grass. I w as s highly disappointed and doubt I will return to play this course or possibly any of the courses at Kenton County. I will be sure to share this information with all of my friends in the golfing community!!
Fox Run
Tee boxes and greens were in great condition. However, the fairways were just burnt and no growth was seen on this course for the fairways. The neighboring courses Pioneer and the Willows looked to have lush, green fairways. If they fix the fairways then this course would be great. I did pay $15 for my round so it wasn't a total waste of money.
DO NOT PLAY
DO NOT PLAY not worth your money no matter how cheap until they fix the fairways! We were told the course was a little rough and to play up when ever it hit dirt, this was almost every shot from the middle of the fairway except a couple of holes.
Fairways
Apparently, Lightning struck this course's fairway sprinkler system. They're are no fairways as a result. While this is a beautiful course; it should be closed until it's brought back to playable condition.
Absolute Worst
Being a twice a week golfer, I like to try and find new courses. Even if a course has a couple rough patches I dont hold that against the overall experience. After all, we are in the midwest's weather .
Having said that, this course was wretched. They replaced their fairway grass last year and it did not take, so they played horribly. The tee boxes were also brown, but the greens were in decent shape. The traps were not taken care of, and the overall course play was challenging due to the unrecognizable parts.
This course should have cost 5 dollars to play, not 32. A waste and I will never go back.
Great value for what we paid for.
We only paid 20 dollars for 18 holes. 9am tee time on a Friday morning. How can you complain when you get a deal like that. BUT.... If I was paying the normal full price of 48 dollars I would've been furious. Fairways are none existent because they experimented with changing the grass type. Greens and tee boxes are excellent except for the women boxes. Again.... None existent. She had to tee off on a patch of grass pretty much every hole. Don't get me wrong. Kenton county traditional is a fantastic coarse but I think their going to struggle this year.
DO NOT PLAY
The fairways are in terrible shape and do not resemble a golf course. It is not worth your time and I wouldn't play it for free. It is an embarrassment to golf and needs to be shut down until the grass recovers. Too many nice places in the general area to play to waste your time on this course. Hopefully you will read this review before you find out the hard way. I have attached a photo taken on the 25th of May when we played. This was generally what the course was like on almost every hole.
fairway wasnt good
weather was perfect but the fairways were in TERRIBLE shape. It looked like the fairway was burned or the grass didnt grow.
wait till mid-june
Fairways were in pretty bad shape but the course is fun and a real challenge. Got a great price from golfnow. Full price is too much until the conditions improve.
Fox Run
The greens were in great shape. The tee boxes were ok. The fairways were not in good shape due to the harsh winter we had. Overall it was a good place to play.
18 bucks? Fair enough.
The course is normally in phenomenal shape but the fairways had died off this year. The greens rolled beautifully as always. Course is always a fun risk reward challenging type course. Worth 18 dollars to be first off the tee. Wouldn't pay full price for the course conditions at the moment though.
Hope it improves
Course is in bad shape,if I didn't get a good price I would have asked for my money back.No food or drinks avaiable inless you want to go all the way back to the clubhouse, or have change for the pop machine, which was almost empty.
I hope with warm weather and watering the course improves greatley.
God Awful
I would be embarrassed if my lawn was in the condition that Fox Run was in. I wouldn't play this course for free. The fairways are dirt. The rough is unkempt. It's too bad because I heard this course used to be one of the premier public courses in northern kentucky, now it barely resembles a golf course.
Fox Run golf couse
The price was reasonable. But the course was in terrible condition there wasn't any grass in the fairway to stop my golf ball from rolling out off bounds. It was like hitting off off a pitchers mound. The tee box wasn't any better.overall it was a very bad experience. I won't be going back there I wish I had none about those conditions before I wasted my time....
Still too early...
Great course potential ,especially the back nine. Greens in great shape and rolled well. Staff unbelievably friendly but they never mentioned the condition of the fairways ..biggest downside is that the course was recently
renovated with Bermuda in the fairways and that is still dormant and a bit torn up in 230-275 range from most Tees as there is no regrowth and divots are plenty . Bunkers could use a good raking in the am. Will be a great challenge in the hotter summer months once the Bermuda grows
Fairways appear to be lost
This is normally such a beautiful track, but the fairways have been lost and there was no mention of this by the staff. This was a Golf Now tee time, and the rate was discounted. Had I known the fairways were so bad, I would have gone somewhere else.
Greens were in great condition.
Nice course
Played for the first time since the 18th hole renovation, fairways and tee boxes where in bad shape was very disappointed at first then paired up and was told it was new grass that had not come in completely yet so was relieved since I like this course very much.
