Slipping
I've played here many times over the years. My review is not based on one round in April. I enjoy the length and the layout is pretty good. Greens were always nice and tight. But tee boxes, aprons, and bunkers mostly were in poor shape. Many cases where the cart path dirt and rocks have expanded well into the rough next to the fairway. So years, later they now have a cart path only rule every day to preserve the fairways. They've increased spacing between tee times to accommodate, but it's still a pain and still impacts pace of play. But the issues with the conditions remain. Weekend rates are about $80 which seems high comparatively speaking to nicer courses only 20 miles away.
Overpriced but Better Conditions
Overpriced course, playing like a $65 one. They are charging $79.88 beans to play this course w/ cart, whilst top tier courses just south of here (including free range balls and premium practice facility) are charging $10 less. Pembroke has a somewhat shoddy range & practice facility. Greens have improved since last year.
Course does not drain well and any recent rain = CPO.
Range was closed, assume because of recent rain. Fast pace of play that day which was nice.
Pembroke CC
The greens were awesome, staff was great as always.
Fast greens
Course has a great layout- greens are fast- a little too costly in my opinion. Staff is awesome!
Nice layout, not great upkeep
I love the layout of PCC. It has challenging, long par 4s, short but interesting par 3s and some tight par 5s that rewards accuracy. The greens are generally in good shape but the rest of the course was in just okay shape. It used to be one of the South Shore’s gems about 12-15 years ago but not anymore, unfortunately. They have a blanket “cart path only” for every hole, every day, regardless of the weather. When we played, we only hit 1 or 2 boggy areas on the whole course. So it seems like laziness of the staff to just make it “cart path only” for the whole course every day. For that reason alone, I will not return unless my friends drag me kicking and screaming there.
Awful conditions
This course is a mess. They have cart path only they have to be kidding, the cart paths are a disaster. The course is in horrendous shape miss the fairway and your on gravel no grass in the rough. The greens all have some disease. It’s really a shame because it’s a nice layout. I’ve played it many times it just gets progressively worse. Don’t waste your time or money.
Overpriced
For 90$ there are much nicer courses you could play. This course is not in the best of shape for the amount of money they charge. Also there is no walking fee, they essentially force you into a cart and then make you stay on the cart path which really slows down pace of play. This place is just a money grab, doesn't look like much is put back into the course. There is a reason why you can always find tee times here.
3/10 stars
Staff was awesome here - but the course is in horrible shape. Booked this as a last minute Tee time and wouldn’t recommend. Widows walk is around the same price and a much better course on South Shore.
Greeens Ruined
They should be ashamed of charging $89 for the conditions of their greens. Tee boxes and fairways were fine. The greens were ridiculous. Every one of them had a disease.
It was a bruttily hot and humid day in the mid 90s. It was hard trying to play and we couldn't finish due to the conditions. If I had know it was going to be that bad I probably would have canceled.
Do not play this course.
I wouldn’t play this course if it were free. Pace of play was horrendous. It was cart path only for no reason whatsoever. Tee boxes looked like the moon with the amount of craters on them. The greens should all have “ground under repair” signs. Please please please do not ever play here for $80. You will regret it.
Fair to poor conditions
I was told the course was going to be closing and condos are to be built.
May be correct based upon the conditions of the course. With the favorable weather conditions for growing grass the course was on tough shape. The price was right and I was able to get a late morning tee time the morning of, now I no now.
The starter asked if we were from Pembroke, we said no, he said why do you want to play here
Only worth it if you live there
$90 to play here, with the condition that it is in and the pace of play is not at all worth it. Plus it was a Saturday and there was no beverage cart which is insane. Greens were inconsistent at best, fairways were acceptable but not great. I’d recommend to a friend who is just starting out, but only if the price came down. $40-$50 with a cart would be the most I would pay to play this track and I’d have to be convinced.
Great course
It was a great day. I have been there before and I will return again
