Madrona Links Golf Course
About
Madrona Links Golf Course first opened in 1978, and has since become one of the most active clubs in the Puget Sound area. Located in Gig Harbor, the course is conveniently located on the peninsula with easy access to Tacoma Narrows and Highway 16. The layout has a classic links design that is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels. Small, deep bunkers frame both the greens and fairways. Madrona Links requires accuracy, but it's not overly punishing if you're slightly errant. With only gently rolling hills, the golf course is an easy walk. At just over 5,600 yards from the back tees, it's relatively short but you will still face some challenging shots. This popular course is one of the best values in the area.

Improvements noticeable
Shorter course with several parallel fairways but still fun to play. Improvements being made (new tee placards, tree removal, better green conditions) which make it a better course than a few years ago. They do still need to remove the tree removal debris. Very walkable.
Pro shop
Greens are going to be great in a couple of weeks. Will be look forward to next time I play here
Tree removal
Better with the limited tree removal. Course is in nice shape.
Great place to golf
Overall course was good greens were plug awhile back will get better with time .other wise great place to golf and friendly staff.
Under repair
Always like this course, but they just sanded the greens, and they are in the process of cutting lots of trees down. There was a lot of tree cuttings/debris on the sides of the course.
Love this course
I always love to play at Madrona. The staff is wonderful, and the pace of play is usually very good. The only problem this time is the greens were just recently sanded and they are doing a lot of tree removal with huge piles of debris lining many of the fairways. It would be nice when choosing from Golf Now if these factors were mentioned.
Always a fun place to play.
Madrona Links is a fine course. Not overly challenging, even for us high handicappers. Greens are well kept with enough speed and break to make it fun.
Also. I scored an eagle on hole #5!
Dry course
Short par 4&5s Stays dryer than most courses great bar and restaurant there is no cart path so if you drive a cart you can drive to your ball on every shot
Nice Improvements
I haven't played here in about 7 months. Although the course was still soggy after a good rain the day before, it played well. There were two temporary greens but you could tell that there were good improvements coming.
Price
Golf now offered a very good price for 18 holes with a cart
Madrona Links
Nice "municipal like" somewhat short course that is well worth the cost
Great Greens
I have always enjoyed this course do to the great roll on the greens and the challenging slope
Great course, great bar
Course was in Good shape, restaurant and lounge are great..............
Madrona Review
The staff is friendly and the course was in fairly good shape with the exception of the greens. I only played 8 holes because of slow play in front of us, but without exaggerating, I repaired 6-10 ball marks on all 8 greens I played. The staff should remind players to do this when they check-in. Maybe have some small signs around the green that remind player to repair ball marks. It's pitiful that the average novice player is rarely told or shown how important it is to repair ball marks.
Thursday golf
Had the typical winter rain showers for the first 7 holes, but the fairways were draining nice, just a few greens had standing water. Once the rain stopped, the greens were back to normal. Clubhouse facility was nice along with friendly staff. Was impressed with grill/restaurant. Had a prime rib special that night and was very tasty.
I'll be back!
Nice course. Not very long and not a lot of trouble to contend with but plenty of challenging shots nonetheless.
Baby it's wet out there .
It was definitely winter conditions . No ball roll and standing water in a lot of areas. Some places were roped off because of the ground being soggy. I'm sure conditions will change in a month . For a short track it still is pretty challenging .
Great day
Went to play 18 holes with my son, everyone else had the same idea since the sun finally came out. It took 3 hours for the first nine, we decided to leave, course was in good shape for all the rain we had, just to many golfers.
shape of course
Found this course to be in very good shape for the time of year and the weather we've had. Can't wait to play it in the summer. The greens where in excellent shape
always fun to play
Madrona is a fun course to play. Not too challenging, but rewarding to the average golfer. It's probably too short for the big hitters.
The course tends to be in good condition and we got a great deal. We'll definitely play it again next time a deal comes around.
