Madrona Links Golf Course first opened in 1978, and has since become one of the most active clubs in the Puget Sound area. Located in Gig Harbor, the course is conveniently located on the peninsula with easy access to Tacoma Narrows and Highway 16. The layout has a classic links design that is player friendly enough for players of all skill levels. Small, deep bunkers frame both the greens and fairways. Madrona Links requires accuracy, but it's not overly punishing if you're slightly errant. With only gently rolling hills, the golf course is an easy walk. At just over 5,600 yards from the back tees, it's relatively short but you will still face some challenging shots. This popular course is one of the best values in the area.

course was very well maintained, if only they could of stopped the rain . excellent overall
It was cold
Played for the first time this year. Some the greens were rock hard, almost like cement. But that is golf in WA in February I guess. Overall I love this course.
Course is well cared for
Course is always in great shape. Crew does a great job in keeping the greens in great shape. The course is enjoyable and offers challenges on many holes.
The course was in exceptional
The course was in exceptional condition the greens were fantastic very pleasant very fast play enjoyed ourselves thoroughly
Always a good time at Madronna! Conditions were wet and damp but not a problem whatsoever!
Worth it.
Madrona is a short, but somewhat challenging course for amateur players like my friends and I. The prices are always competitive with other local courses, and the clubhouse drinks and food are affordable. Had maybe one negative interaction with a clubhouse attendant in a dozen or so trips, but other than that, very friendly staff. Driving range leaves something to be desired (150 yards).
Muddy Madrona
This is a great course in the summer. The greens are still in great shape for December. Only issue during winter is the muddy conditions. I know it’s winter golf in the PNW so can’t complain too much but this and others like it (Allenmore, Meadow Park to name a few) just get so muddy during winter. The fairways and rough thin out and expose the lack of sand these courses were not built with. But a good pair of rain pants and rain jacket/shirt will keep the muck off you. Great GolfNow got deal to play too.
Short but fun course
Very good condition for December. Only bad event was being held up by 5 some until 10th hole where they kindly let us play through. Good food in restaurant also.
Another great golf day
We play here quite often because it's close to home and good fees. the course is open year round and always in good to excellent shape.
Great day for golf.
We got a “hot deal” which was a great deal. Got paired with another couple who matched us in skill so we had a very enjoyable day. It took us nearly 5 hours to complete our round. On the back 9 we had. 5th from the group behind join us as he got left by his partner. But we were playing at a steady pace until we got to the last few holes that were backed up. Was surprised they didn’t have a marshal checking out the pace. But we weren’t in a rush so had an enjoyable day.
Great bang for the buck
This is a fun course, my wife is pretty new to the game and this course is very forgiving. My only complaint is that some of the holes are short (drive-able par fours) and we were hit into twice during the round with one missing my wife by inches and hitting our cart. They need something to let people on the tee box know when your clear.
Another off and on rain day in the PNW!
Rained off and on and it was windy so tough conditions but course in great shape even with lots of water! The greens having been aerated recently are in great condition. Using a cart in these conditions you have to be respectful of the course.Not often can you finish in 2 and a half hours!
Consistent experience
Course had some necessary maintenance ongoing. ....aeration, green maintenance etc. Still enjoyed the round as that reduced what is usually uncrowded conditions even more. Had fun with 3 other Golf Now players....we were in twosome but after meeting on a green we teamed up. Exchanged info and will be golfing with them again. Great way to meet fellow golfers without joining a club.
Madrona Links is worth a visit
For an inexpensive public course, Madrona Links is a great value. The course is well maintained and has enough challenges for all players. There’s not a lot of trouble on the course but you will be punished for errant shots!
